Trevon was a three-star recruit out of Smithson Valley High School in Spring Branch, Texas. He played cornerback in high school, and had offers from Georgia, Ole Miss, Arizona, and Minnesota, among others, before he committed to TCU in April of 2017.
Moehrig played as a true freshman safety in 2018, and during his three years, he had 124 tackles (4.5 for a loss), 7 INT, 21 PD, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. He was named to the 1st Team All-Big 12 in 2019 and 2020.
